After a decorated 23 year NFL career, Coach Carney has made it his passion to pass on the knowledge and experience he acquired to the football world... AND to the public. He designed Carney Training Facility to be a no-nonsense, efficient, comprehensive, unique, training environment. Coach Carney and his staff teach Skill-Specific training for high school, college, and professional athletes. Now, they share these programs and techniques with the public.

Derek Mathewson

Coach Mathewson comes from a background in multiple, baseball, football, track, and power-lifting. Derek was scholarshipped at SIU for football and enjoyed a record-breaking punting college career. As head-trainer at Carney Training Facility, he has a wide variety of clients: high school clients in football, track, baseball and softball; middle aged adults as well as retired clients that want to stay fit. Derek's fitness philosophy is to tailor each workout to the client’s individual needs. His expansive background in sports is what makes him excel in this form of assessment and fitness. Furthermore, he currently has numerous high school clients with offers from D1 programs, and excels in advising high school atheletes the keys for college exposure. 


Derek is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer.   He is the founder of Fitness180.

Redford Jones

Coach Jones graduated from The University of Tulsa with a bachelors degree of science in exercise and sports science. As the place kicker at TU, he became the football program's all-time scoring leader. Redford also ran track and played soccer.


Certified by NESTA, he is a personal trainer here at Carney Training Facility. His philosophy is understanding that not one person is the same and workouts are individualized to custom fit that client.
